Professional Experience

When a client chooses us to help them with a criminal issue, it is an honor and a privilege. In this area of the law, any encounter with the police is stressful, emotional, and intimidating. As their lawyer, I treat every person with dignity and respect, and acknowledge that sometimes life gets complicated. Working together, we seek to get a fair disposition in every case. We help clients to process these complex situations and get on with life.

I started my career as a prosecutor for the Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office where I began as an interviewer and rose through the ranks from traffic court to felonies. After my first two children arrived, I served as a Public Defender before transferring to private practice. Although I’ve been a lawyer for a long time (since 1985), I took a lengthy Mommy Sabbatical to raise four children. I returned to practice when they were all grown. Due to this break, I am able to approach the practice of law with energy and a fresh perspective. I’m never bored by my work and every case calls me to be professionally prepared and to treat every client with compassion.

I look forward to working with you.
